The new Centre for Student Life

The student experience at Cardiff University continues to improve. In 2017, it was announced that our student facilities are being modernised with a £50 million investment in the Centre for Student Life. Work on the new centre began early in 2018, bringing students the biggest campus upgrade in a generation.

MSc Medicinal Chemistry

The field of medicinal chemistry is becoming increasingly important as we continue to push the boundaries in the discovery of new drugs and applications in healthcare. The MSc in Medicinal Chemistry allows students to specialise in this area, exploring the wider context of drug discovery, business and healthcare, and building contacts with industry professionals.

On this course, students will develop the scientific and technical knowledge, understanding and laboratory skills needed to design drugs, and there will be opportunities for industrial and academic placements in the UK and abroad as part of the student’s research project.

BSc Financial Mathematics

Attracting over 220 students from around the world each year, our School of Mathematics offers an innovative and stimulating learning environment. Our BSc in Financial Mathematics provides students with fundamental mathematical and statistical knowledge, whilst developing transferable skills and an understanding of modern finance studies regarding financial markets, institutions, investments and policies.

This degree offers a solid grounding in general mathematical theory and techniques whilst encouraging an understanding of abstract mathematical concepts, logical argument and deductive reasoning. With the opportunity for students to extend their studies to include a year abroad or a year in industry, our BSc in Financial Mathematics leads to career opportunities in the banking and financial services industries.

Training supply chain managers of the future

Taught by leading academics, our distinctive new MSc in Sustainable Supply Chain Management programme challenges students to look beyond the economic effects of product-sourcing, manufacturing and transportation, to consider wider social and environmental impacts of these activities.Modules combine to give students a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of supply chain management, including procurement, supply and the distribution of products, with a focus on sustainability throughout. Students will also have the chance to acquire high-quality practical skills and to develop innovative ideas which are becoming increasingly important to professionals as they enter an evolving business world.

Cardiff University is offering a FREE 4-week online public access taster course ‘Working with Translation: Theory and Practice’ starting on 19th March 2018.Drawing on the research of specialists at Cardiff University and the University of Namibia, and building on the expertise of professionals from southern Africa to northern Europe, this free course will allow your students to explore what it means to communicate in multiple languages. Sign up now!

New places available on our BSc Physiotherapy programme

We are excited to announce that we have a small number of seats available for international students to study our BSc Physiotherapy course for the first time.

Our Physiotherapy programme is ranked 7th in the UK (The Times Good University Guide 2018) and this three-year degree supports students to become competent physiotherapists, offering a balance between the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for safe and effective physiotherapy practice. Students will undertake at least 1000 hours of clinical placements and they will be allocated mentors and a personal tutor who will guide and support them throughout the programme.

Discover MSc Clinical Dermatology at Cardiff University

Designed for doctors with at least 1 year of general medical experience, our MSc in Clinical Dermatology allows students to develop their knowledge and experience in the specialist field of dermatology. This course is accredited by the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians and Hong Kong Medical Association and it is particularly suited to overseas medical graduates.

Focusing on the fundamental clinical and scientific knowledge required to become a specialist in dermatology, this course offers weekly observational clinical placements in the University Hospital of Wales; lectures by international guest speakers; and practical skills workshops, including skin surgery sessions.
